Glenfinnan | The world-renowned story of Bonnie Prince Charlie 's fight for the British throne gathered momentum at Glenfinnan where he raised the Jacobite standard and rallied his clansmen for battle.
Mallaig | At the end of the ‘Romantic Road to the Isles’ and the West Highland Railway Line lies Mallaig, just over an hour from Fort William. To go further afield, board one of the ferries either to Skye or to the Small Isles of Muck, Eigg, Rum and Canna.
Morar | As the Atlantic Ocean rolls in past the Small Isles, its azure shallows tumble on to sparkling white beaches which have long lured photographers and film-makers – none more so than the stretches from Traigh Beach to the silver sands of Morar where 'Local Hero' and 'Highlander' were filmed.
Arisaig | This is the area where the renowned west coast sunset can be enjoyed at its best. There can be no more magical sight than the sun as it disappears behind the islands in a riot of pink, red and purple, setting the mountains of Rum and Skye ablaze with colour.
Lochailort | Loch Ailort cuts its way in from the Ardnamurchan peninsula. The loch, with its clean and sheltered waters was where Scottish fish farming was pioneered. Just a mile further north at Polnish the road passes the old white church which was used in the film 'Local Hero'.
The Small Isles | Unlike many groups each island is distinct and different in geography, agronomy, population and ownership. From Muck in the south, through Eigg with its tooth-like Sgurr, and Rum, mountainous and mysterious in the clouds, to Canna in the north, the Islands offer a wonderful variety of scenery, wildlife and lifestyle.
Knoydart | The Knoydart peninsula is only accessible by boat from Mallaig or by a 20 mile hike on foot. A wonderful area for walking and camping, this is truly a miles-from-anywhere, get-away-from-it-all place. The Old Forge has the accolade of being the most remote pub in mainland Britain

Knoydart House Studio Room has a gorgeous super king bed with a romantic ciel de lit canopy which can be configured as a twin or a super king to sit your requirements with 4 foot headboard en suite, crisp white linen, organic hand soap, shampoo and conditioner for use, hairdryer, w.c and shower. Designed to make the most of our stunning location it has large french windows which open out onto your own decking area, perfect for nightcaps under the milky way or breakfast al fresco. Soft lighting, en-suite w.c/shower, direct sea loch views and a well equipped mini kitchen perfect for some quiet time together on Knoydart.
Furnished throughout to a very high standard with antique pieces, family pieces and art by local artists on the walls.
Complete with a bespoke fitted luxury small kitchenette with pastel blue Smeg appliances, Nespresso coffee machine, panasonic bread maker, micro wave, induction hob, oven, champagne bucket, wine keepers, hand blender, electric whisk and baking utensil. Connect into the bluetooth sound dock and relax. The Studio Room has wifi throughout, french sliding doors onto the balcony area and outdoor furniture…perfect for alfresco nightcaps or morning coffee overlooking the loch. The Studio Room was once part of the main house but built with its own external entrance and separate french sliding doors out onto its own decking area it’s the perfect excape for two.
Towels and hot tub towels are provided as well as nespresso pods for your nespressocoffee machine, Highland Organics hand soap and hand lotion dispensers for your complimentary use, plus beautiful white crisp linen for a perfect nights sleep.

Booking

Knoydart House Studio Room is available on a nightly basis midweek £120 per night 2018 and £130 per night 2019 for two guests and two night minimum stay if it includes a fri, Sat or Sun night stay. Max occupancy 2 adults
Studio Room can be configured as a luxury superking or twin room on request.
Cot available on request for Children under 2.
One well behaved pet welcome on request, £10 per night capped at a max of £30 for the duration of your stay.
Deposit inclusive of VAT secures your booking Knoydart House Studio Room 50% of your total stay, the balance (i.e full rental cost is required 8 weeks prior to arrival).

Find Us

Western Isles Ferry service is our local ferry and also has fast water taxis for guests at Knoydart House Studio Room and Knoydart Hide privately owned a family business that also doubles as our highland contract ferry service.
Western Isles Ferry Service runs several sailings a day, seven days a week and all sailings tie in with trains times and house arrival departure times (25 or 45 minute crossing depending on vessel used). The sailing is across a sheltered sealoch bringing our guests, groceries, Knoydart residents deliveries and whatever needs to get across. They take bikes and kayaks, pets and furniture!. So we even when the larger calmac ferries may not be able to run our Knoydart boats will get you here. The Studio Room is available from 3pm so the ideal sailing is 2.15pm from Mallaig. Guests require to vacate the property by 10.30am and the optimum sailing time to request on departure is 11.00 or alternatively there is an early sailing at 8am if you have some distance to travel or wish an early start.
