Mallaig
Mallaig lies at the end of the "Road to the Isles." It is the terminus for the West Highland Railway, where you can watch the Jacobite Steam Train billow into the platform during the summer months. It is also the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry terminus for services to Skye and the Small Isles. There are daily boat trips to Knoydart and fishing trips are also available. The beautiful beaches nearby, include Camusdaroch, Silver Sands of Morar and Traigh which is situated close to the 9 hole golf course. The Nearby hamlet of Morar hosts the deepest Freshwater Loch in Europe said to hold a monster called Morag a relative of Nessie! In her depths! Boat rental and fishing permits are available (if you dare)!
