The Jacobite Steam Train runs between Fort William and Mallaig during the summer. For 2008, this service operates Monday - Friday from 19th May - 10th October / Saturday & Sunday from 28th June - 31st August. Departs from Fort William railway station at 10.20am.
It is operated by the West Coast Railway Company Ltd. Book your tickets by phoning 01524 737751 or or 01524 737753.

Isle of Muck Events:
Every Wednesday in July and August: Arisaig Marine ferry leaves at 11am. Come to the Isle of Muck for Muck Market Day: island vegetables, lamb & pork, homemade cakes & ice-cream, island crafts, guided tours of the island.

Exhibition now showing at the Land, Sea and Islands Visitor Centre at Arisaig:
Current exhibitions feature the works of 19th century watercolourist Jemima Blackburn, and West Highland Emigration in the late 18th century
Displays at the Centre also include information about local crofting, fishing, church history, marine life, nature, Bonnie Prince Charlie, and those who trained in the area for the Special Operations Executive (SOE) during World War II.

• 14 June: Annual Agricultural Show at Camusdarach. Followed by a Dance in the Astley Hall in the evening.

• 12 July: Scottish Chamber Orchestra Highland Tour, 8pm at The Nevis Centre, Fort William. The brilliant young British conductor, Robin Ticciati, makes his SCO debut with four romantic classics, perfect for the long summer evenings. Maximiliano Martín clarinet. Peter Whelan bassoon. Fauré Masques et Bergamasques, Strauss Prelude to Capriccio, Strauss Duet Concertino, Haydn Symphony No 104 'London'. • Friday 25th July: Daytime Drama Workshop as part of the Highland Council Summer Activities programme, for school age children. Evening concert in the Astley Hall with Gregg Weiss. Start of Arisaig Week 2008.
• 26 July: Lochaber Highland Games at Fort William.
• Tuesday 29th July: Arisaig Craft Fair in the Astley Hall, with many tables and some demonstrations. Refreshments, soup and sandwiches, will be on offer with the takings going to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
• Wednesday 30th July: Arisaig Highland Games and Clanranald Gathering at Traigh. The day starts off with the parade from the Roshven View junction through the village and ends with the dance in the Astley Hall to the Ballochmyle Ceilidh Band.
• Friday 1st August - The Road to the Isles Sailing Association Regatta
• Saturday 2nd August - The Road to the Isles Sailing Association Regatta Racing on the loch for children and grown ups. The trophies will be presented at the Regatta Family Ceildih Dance which is in the Astley Hall dancing to Gabe McVarish & Friends from 7.30pm til 1am.
• Sunday 3 August: Eigg and Spoon Race for keel boats in The Road to the Isles Sailing Association Regatta
• Sunday 3 August: Mallaig and Morar Highland Games - at the new Lovat Memorial Field, Morar.
• 9 August - Small Isles Sports, Isle of Muck
• tbc August - Knoydart Games
• 16 August: Glenfinnan Highland Games. Phone 01397 72 23 24.
• 23 August - Lochaber Agricultural Show at Torlundy
