This 30-bedroomed hotel on the fabled Road to the Isles has breathtaking views of the Silver Sands of Morar and the islands of Rum and Eigg.

The hotel offers true Highland hospitality with comfortable accommodation, log fires and good home cooking.  All rooms have Telephone access, colour TV, private bathrooms and tea making facilities. All rooms are non-smoking.  Many rooms enjoy breath-taking views over the Morar River Estuary and the rugged Craig Mhor mountains.

The spacious 'Silver Sands' restaurant, with its panoramic views and decking terrace, is open to non-residents and boasts a carefully created à la carte menu with daily fish specials landed locally in Mallaig. Light bites are served during the day in our Coffee-Shop and our well stocked bars cater for the whisky connoisseur. We have a large parking area outside the hotel with easy access.

The hotel is open from Easter until the end of October.

Famous for its Silver Sands with excellent bathing facilities, Morar is one of the most beautiful as well as historic districts in the Western Highlands, comprising a magnificent combination of mountains, moors and lochs. Local walks are varied and splendid. Fishing can be had for salmon, sea trout and brown trout. Morar and its surrounding area is very popular for the making of many films including 'Local Hero' and 'Rob Roy'.

Loch Morar nearby, is twelve miles long and Europe's deepest loch at over 1,000 feet. Like Loch Ness in the nearby Great Glen, Loch Morar has its resident monster, called Morag. Over the years many reliable sightings have been reported, a high proportion from local inhabitants.

At Mallaig, a distance of three miles, there is a car ferry which runs daily to the island of Skye. There are also day cruises available to Skye, Loch Nevis and the Inner Hebrides. Full details are given on the Transport page of this web site.

Rum From Arisaig, five miles south, cruises are available daily to the Small Isles of Rum, Eigg, Muck and Canna.
